The word “saison” is actually French for “season.” Saisons, or Farmhouse Ales, were traditionally brewed in the winter to be served throughout the summer months. This kept farm workers busy during the winter months and gave them something to drink during the summer. The reason they’re also called “Farmhouse Ales” is that they were often fermented in open fermenters in barns and farm buildings, allowing whatever yeast and bacteria that was in the air around the farm to ferment the beer, making each farm’s beer unique.

The RYEsistance Rye Saison is light, refreshing and bursting with flavors from the wild farmhouse yeast strain used in this beer. Banana, orange and pineapple flavors are balanced by an herbal, almost spicy finish from a touch of rye malt.
